REAL DEAL: Denver Broncos are in the lead to sign a star for $54 million at last

The Denver Broncos have officially started the 2024 offseason in an effort to strengthen their roster. Additionally, they’ve already been

linked to a highly successful player who isn’t a quarterback.Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda reports that the Broncos are interested in

L’Jarius Sneed, the cornerback for the Kansas City Chiefs who won the Super Bowl. The Broncos have “expressed interest” in Sneed,

but the Atlanta Falcons are reportedly in the running for him, according to a Pauline report from February 27.Sneed was drafted in the

fourth round of the 2020 NFL draft and made the All-Rookie team. Since his rookie season, the former Louisiana Tech star has been

healthy, missing just three games while playing for the Chiefs. “Some speculate partnering Sneed with Patrick Surtain ll would give

Denver a formidable duo at the cornerback position. Yet others have told me outright that Sneed would offer insurance if they dangled

Surtain as part of a package to move up and draft one of the top-rated quarterbacks,” the reporter initially reported from Shrine Bowl

practices.

  The Cap Situation in Denver

Even with the salary cap amount increasing by $30 million to $255.4 million in 2024, the Broncos have few options in free agency.

The primary reason the Broncos are currently $27 million over the salary limit, according to Spotrac.com, is because Russell Wilson’s

deal is about to expire.
