‘I’d be surprised’: Chris Sutton stunned by striker who Leeds United want to sign

Daniel Farke will be weighing up his transfer options for the summer as Leeds United fans can get excited.

The 49ers will need to strengthen in many areas of the Leeds squad as the owners will want to right their wrongs of relegation in the Premier League last time.

This has been combated as Paraag Marathe wants Premier League targets, as a serious message of intent has been sent.

With incoming considered, Leeds will have to also take into account losing players, as Manor Solomon’s future at Leeds is in doubt.

But one player they do want to sign has been hailed by Chris Sutton, as Leeds must pounce on a golden opportunity.

Chris Sutton stunned by Leeds United transfer target Josh Sargent

Josh Sargent isn’t exactly a ‘Premier League’ target as the American has found his success in the Championship, but nevertheless, he would make an excellent coup for Farke.

Leeds are linked with Sargent again having previously been mooted with the Norwich City striker, but this time, a deal could certainly come to fruition.

In a situation where the striker will be targeted by many clubs, Carlton Palmer has backed Leeds for Sargent.

This could become a reality, and what Sutton has suggested on Sky Sports about Sargent will have Leeds fans licking their lips.

“I think Sargent is the best striker in the Championship,” Sutton said.

“The way I feel about him when he plays is that I always fancy Norwich to win.

“He leads the line really well – I’d be surprised if he’s still at Norwich City next season.”

Sargent performance vs Oxford United should speak volumes for Leeds

The Whites faithful will be keeping their eye on Norwich games just to watch the 25-year-old whilst also worrying about their own future.

Sargent is arguably the Championship’s best, and after Sutton’s career as a striker it’s some praise for the American.

The jury is still out on the Canaries striker’s ability in the Premier League, but Farke believes Sargent is a ‘top striker’, and his performance against Oxford on Friday night exemplifies that.

This transfer saga will certainly be one to keep an eye on, as in good news for Leeds fans, Sargent is likely to move on from Norwich.
