Celtic wants to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
According to HITC sources, Celtic already knows the path they want to pursue.
The defending Scottish Premiership champions hope to sign Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool in the summer of 2024.
Celtic have been watching Kelleher for years and are quite impressed with the 25-year-old Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper.
The Hoops want him to be their new number one. Caoimhin Kelleher is highly regarded.
Kelleher was brilliant for Liverpool against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
Gary Neville of Sky Sports was astonished by his saves,
while Virgil van Dijk, the goalkeeper’s teammate, characterized him as “world class”.
The goalkeeper’s performance in Liverpool’s win over Chelsea demonstrated that he is more than ready for number one duties
which he will not be getting anytime soon at Anfield, with Alisson firmly established as the first-choice goalkeeper.
HITC revealed earlier this year that Liverpool was already considering prospective number two candidates to replace Kelleher,
whom they are prepared to let go.
Selling Kelleher as a domestic product will also help with their profit and sustainability calculations.
Celtic are now second in the Scottish Premiership rankings, having earned 65 points from 27 matches.
Brendan Rodgers’ side is two points behind league leaders and Old Firm rivals Rangers.
The Hoops won the league this past weekend.
Liverpool are presently leading the Premier League table with 60 points from 26 games,
one point ahead of second-placed and defending champions Manchester City.
