BBC host names four Rangers stars in Team of the Week after Ibrox win v Hearts
With the Rangers’ resounding 5-0 victory over Hearts on Saturday, Jonathan Sutherland has selected four players for his Team of the
Week. (24 February).
giving his team “enormous confidence” by making the saves when needed against the Jambos. John Souttar, the center back, also
merited a spot in the starting lineup.
John Lundstram, a midfielder, was described as “simply outstanding” by the coach when he made the squad, while Oscar Cortes, a
January addition, made the squad after declaring himself to be a “real danger with huge potential.”
Sutherland declared, “Four spots for five-star Rangers.” “It wasn’t exactly a historic weekend for Premiership goalkeepers, but against
Hearts, Jack Butland made the necessary stops. His presence between the sticks is genuinely commanding, which must instill great
confidence in his backline and the club as a whole.
John Souttar, who looks to be improving every week, is one player who appears to be profiting from Butland’s consistency. The center
back’s ability to stay healthy and board the plane to the Euros will be hoped for by Scotland supporters.
John Lundstram has been playing superb midfield for several weeks now. In midfield,
he establishes the team’s tone and brings the Rangers together.
And finally, following his first goal in royal blue, Oscar Cortes is looking like a wise addition. Under Philippe Clement, the Colombian
is already clicking and establishing himself as a serious threat with enormous potential.
