Rangers Chiefs To Hand Over A New Star Contract At Ibrox After Four Key Pass Masterclass Verses Hearts
Rangers stormed past Hearts in their latest Scottish Premiership test, with the result extending their lead at the top of the table.
The Gers were in scintillating form at Ibrox on Saturday (24 February), led by recent arrivals Mohamed Diomande, Oscar Cortes and Fabio Silva.
All three loanees were on the scoresheet in Glasgow, with summer signing Cyriel Dessers also netting a brace.
Not on the scoresheet but producing an outstanding display for Philippe Clement was midfield ace John Lundstram.
The former Sheffield United player did provide an assist for Silva’s second-half goal, but he also shined in other areas.
According to Sofascore, the seasoned midfielder completed 76 of his 85 passes, resulting in an 89% success rate, with four of those passes being critical, more than any other player on the pitch.
Lundstram also led the way with 101 touches, making two clearances, one interception, and one tackle during his hugely influential performance.
Worryingly, the midfielder’s contract at Ibrox will expire at the end of this season, and the club cannot afford to lose him considering his current performances.
Rangers managers must offer John Lundstram a new contract at Ibrox.
That should compel the powers that be in Glasgow to take swift action, with a new contract going to Lundstram as soon as possible.
Rangers fans will still be enraged that they lost Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos for free last summer when their contracts expired, a situation that must be avoided with Lundstram this time.
In other Rangers news, a behind-the-scenes Ibrox development has one Gers sensation poised to put Clement under pressure.
