A major Stoke City loanee question is addressed by a Blackpool player as the transfer strategy is described.

Niall Ennis, a 25-year-old striker for Blackpool, has had a fantastic start to his career at Bloomfield Road

. Since joining on loan from Stoke City last month, the forward has scored four goals in five games,

including a brace in last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Crawley Town.

However, his outstanding goal-scoring performance has already sparked concerns

about his long-term future after playing poorly at the bet365 Stadium.

David Downes, Blackpool’s sporting director, clarified at the club’s latest

supporters conference that it is a straight loan. “We talked to him for a long time

because it was clear he would become available, but that had to bottom out a little

bit given Stoke’s managerial situation. “I won’t go into too much detail,

but Niall has 18 months left on a fantastic Championship contract.

Given the commitment we make to his salary, it was really challenging to

be able to accomplish something with him in January.

He has 12 months left in the summer, which is a little unusual.

Stoke will have to choose between keeping him and selling him.In the end,

Niall is bound by a Championship deal that he may not want to renounce,

and he may want to try his hardest during preseason under Mark Robins.
