Amorim has an injury scare as the Man Utd star, who makes £135k a week, is put to the test.
A “monster” player who sustained an injury against Everton on Saturday is scheduled to be tested,
giving Manchester United and Ruben Amorim yet another injury scare.
At Everton, Manchester United rallies to earn a point.
After falling behind 2-0 to Everton in the first half at Goodison Park,
it appeared that the Red Devils would have yet another disappointing weekend.
United put on a poor showing in the first half, but changes by Amorim transfored the game in the second half and two quick goals
from Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte meant the points were shared.
Amorim said after the game that his team was “soft” and gave up the ball too frequently while not under siege.
“We have to win the entire game and earn three points.
The worst thing is that we are failing to perform our duties and losing the ball without exerting any pressure. We were tender.
Since United has lost their previous three league games, Amorim was also asked what he could do to improve consistency for his team.
The Portuguese manager isn’t sure if he can make a difference.
“I’m not sure; I’ll alter it if I do. We must do better in the game than we did in the week. Right now,
we must concentrate on each day as it comes. Before we can plan for the future, we must endure this season.
I don’t want to only mention the bad. We had a chance to win this game in the second half.
Amorim will now be worried about one of his important players,
even though he will have been happy to see his team rally to salvage a point on Saturday.
Noussair Mazraoui sustained a knee injury during the match against the Toffees,
according to ESPN reporter Rob Dawson (reported by mufcmpb on X). He will be tested on Monday.
After going down in the second half of the match,
the 27-year-old managed to play a little while longer before Leny Yoro took his place in the 70th minute.
Mazraoui will be tested before it is decided whether he can play against Ipswich Town on Wednesday,
however it is unknown how serious his injury is.
Known as a “monster” in the past, Mazraoui has been a vital member of United’s squad this season, starting 24 Premier League games, seven Europa League games, and two FA Cup games.
The defender has only missed one game this season, and that was against Rangers, where he was injured and missed the game.
The adaptable defender, who makes £135,000 a week at Old Trafford,
would finish United’s injury issue, which is quickly approaching Tottenham’s level.
If the Moroccan’s tests reveal negative results, things will become worse.
Lisandro Martinez is facing a lengthy period on the sidelines due to a knee injury of his own,
Kobbie Mainoo will miss many weeks, and Amad Diallo is probably out for the season.
