Dan Plumley stressed that Rangers had to issue a statement alerting fans about pyrotechnics following a previous discussion with the SFA.

On December 3, the Ibrox club issued an official statement acknowledging that sanctions could be enforced following a meeting with the Scottish Football Association and Police Scotland.

The finance expert indicated that additional infractions could result in a point deduction, with early fines expected to harm the team financially.

“They have to release that statement,” he told Ibrox News exclusively.

“It will affect the club financially, first and foremost. We have seen fines for pitch invasions in the English game,

We’ve seen several different fines implemented throughout history for fan disorder and fan behavior. So when dealing with the authorities, the club must issue a firm statement.

“At the very least, you would expect fines if this continued, but you may potentially face point deductions.

There have been discussions regarding how to curb this type of behavior.

“Ultimately, the points deduction harms the supporters more than the money,

So I’m not saying it will get that far, but if it does, extra fines and penalties will be levied.

“The club must release that statement, and at the absolute least,

It will cost the club money, but you don’t want to risk anything greater in the future if it continues.”

In other Rangers news, Plumley has suggested that the club can say they have missed out on a £900 million or more deal was signed off
