Chelsea supporters won’t like it, but Anthony Gordon says he would love for Newcastle United to sign the England star.
Which of his England colleagues Anthony Gordon would like to sign
with Newcastle United has been made public.
As he gets ready to choose his first international team, Gordon,
who is now a fully fledged England regular,
will be eager to make an impression on Thomas Tuchel.
Next month, Tuchel will lead England in World Cup qualifying matches
against Albania and Latvia at Wembley in his first games as
manager of the Three Lions. Many players, including Gordon,
will be hoping that they have performed well enough to secure a
berth in that squad and that they can make an impression on
Tuchel at the club and international levels to warrant a
call-up to the 2026 World Cup, contingent on qualification,
of course. Despite having a rough time at the European
Championships last summer, Gordon hasn’t looked back
on the international scene since forcing his way into
Gareth Southgate’s plans nearly a year ago. With the final
international break of the season slowly creeping into view,
it won’t be long until the domestic campaign comes to an end
before all attention then turns towards the summer transfer window.
Newcastle United look set to head into that window in good
standing after three subdued transfer windows in a row.
