Aston Villa 18-year-old attacker Ben Broggio is close to agreeing a new contract with the Midlands club

amid interest from Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail.

The ‘technically talented’ teenage sensation has been attracting Premier League and

European interest due to his huge potential, but he is now set to be tied down at Villa.

Broggio stepped up to the under-21s this season having regularly impressed at under-18 level and

he has often joined Unai Emery’s sessions with the senior team.

He started this season strongly, attracting Chelsea and others,

but the Villans have moved to ensure he remains with the club going forward.

Emery intends to blood youth in the first-team in his bid to build a formidable squad capable of

challenging for the Premier League going forward,

and Broggio could soon become a key player in his plans if he maintains his current form.

He has regularly impressed in the UEFA Youth League this term and has also been crucial for the

under-18s FA Youth Cup campaign, helping them reach the quarter-finals,

where they will take on their Plymouth Argyle counterparts next month.

Broggio was named among the substitutes when the first-team took on

Crystal Palace in a 2-2 Premier League draw last November,

and such matchday experiences around the squad will come in very handy going forward.

The signings of Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio during the January transfer window could limit his opportunities for the rest of the season, but he will continue to train with the big boys and

could be involved with them during the next pre-season preparations.

Broggio is one of the most talented youngsters around,

and Villa successfully holding on to him as suitors continue to circle should be seen as a great success.

He has been tipped to become their next Jack Grealish,

and all eyes will be on him to see whether he can establish himself as a Premier League star in the future.
