Manager tipped to become new Leicester City boss now in danger of suffering humiliating relegation

Ruud van Nistelrooy was named Leicester City manager in late November 2024, succeeding Steve Cooper in the role.

The Foxes fired Cooper following a terrible run of form that put the Midlands club on the verge of relegation.

Whether or not it was a sensible decision remains to be seen, but Leicester appear to have regressed under Van Nistelrooy, although playing marginally better in recent games.

The Midlands club has won only one of their previous ten Premier League games, sliding to 19th

position and two points from safety under Ruud.

While things haven’t gone well for the former Manchester United manager at the King Power

Stadium, another manager associated with Leicester is also struggling this season.

Carlos Corberan was linked with Leicester City job

Carlos Corberan began the 2024/25 season as manager of Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
Before the season began, the Foxes were looking for a new manager when Enzo Maresca agreed to join Chelsea.

Corberan was linked with Leicester as a potential replacement for Maresca, but he ended up staying at the Hawthorns.

Rumours tying the manager to a move to the newly promoted club surfaced again during the 2024/25 season.

When Cooper was fired, Corberan was expected to take over as Leicester manager, but the move fell through.

Carlos Corberan in La Liga relegation battle with Valencia

Around a month after Leicester hired Van Nistelrooy, Corberan signed a three-year contract with La Liga club Valencia.

Things have not gone as planned for the 41-year-old since his return to Spain, with his team now in danger of relegation.

They have only won five matches this season and are now ranked 18th in the premier division with 23 points.
