One of the Hardest Games You Can Play Is Villa Away
Liverpool are prepared for what may be their toughest week of the season, starting with a trip to play Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
Liverpool is getting ready for what appears to be their most difficult week of the season,
one that could decide whether they are remembered as champions or as pretenders who faltered and fell in the closing stages.
They will play Newcastle United at Anfield on Wednesday, Manchester City on Sunday, and Aston Villa on the road.
If Liverpool wants to win, they may not need to win every game, but they will need the majority of the points.
“I still see it as 13 games to be played and the next game to be the most important one,”
manager Arne Slot said at his pre-match press conference before of his side’s Villa visit. “Starting with Villa away, a difficult game for us and for everyone.
We are aware that it will be difficult since they have an excellent home record—possibly even better if they play in the evening.
However, we have also had a respectable away record this season; overall, we’ve performed well.
I believe that this is a game to look forward to.
Despite finishing ninth at home and six points behind their finish in the previous season,
Villa’s direct qualification to the Round of 16 as the eighth best team in Champions League league play is more
than enough reason to take their threat very seriously, especially for a Liverpool team that has been a little inconsistent lately.
Villa has struggled a little with the heavier fixture list that comes with qualifying for the Champions League last year.
