Rangers sensation Alexander Smith is closing in on a permanent transfer to Arsenal in a deal worth a six-figure sum, according to The Sun.

According to the news outlet’s website (22 February), the bright youngster has been monitored by the Gunners for some time and they are now ready to formalize their interest.

Director of Football Edu is now ready to begin discussions with the Ibrox club about the 15-year-old,

with a six-figure compensation amount expected for the “outstanding talent”.

“Arsenal are closing in on Rangers’ 15-year-old starlet Alexander Smith,” they said in a statement.
