Barry Ferguson mentions Rangers transfer signing.
Barry Ferguson name drops Rangers transfer signing who needs to produce’more quality’
The Light Blues hero anticipated to see more from a single guy.
Barry Ferguson feels Fabio Silva must exhibit “more quality” between now and the end of his Rangers loan.
The Portuguese striker arrived on loan from Wolves in the January transfer window, four years after joining them for a staggering £35 million from Porto.
That sort of price tag certainly comes with great expectations, and Gers were looking for him to provide more
firepower with Danilo out injured for the long term.
So far, he has two goals in eight appearances while splitting striking responsibilities with Cyriel Dessers,
one against bottom-place Livingston and the other against Championship Ayr United in the Scottish Cup.
Ferguson expects and hopes to see more from the 21-year-old.
The former Ibrox captain admits the loanee has not been lax in terms of work ethic, but maintains he has not yet demonstrated the quality.
He told Go Radio: “I want to see a little more from him, no doubt about it. In terms of work rate, he will work hard for the squad, but I expect a little more quality.
“Maybe that will happen; some players may need more time to settle in. You’re not a bad player if you sign for more than £30 million, but maybe he’ll show more in the coming weeks.”
