Rangers news round-up: Clement sack twist shared, ‘Ridiculous’ Celtic claim made
Rangers appear to be in a chaotic position on and off the pitch, and things do not appear to be
improving for them.

They are 13 points behind Celtic in the league, and with the Scottish Cup final defeat to Queen’s
Park, the Europa League is their last hope to win a trophy this season.
Patrick Stewart holds talks with Philippe Clement
Philippe Clement confirmed that he spoke with CEO Patrick Stewart following the devastating Queen’s Park defeat.
While speaking with Stewart, the Belgian insisted that such chats were not unusual and that they occurred on a regular basis.
However, the Gers manager admitted that, aside from Pep Guardiola, no manager’s position is guaranteed at all times.
In the pre-match press conference ahead of the Hearts encounter, Clement stated: “I spoke with
Patrick (Stewart) after the game, like I do after every game. I’m sure Sunday was a huge blow to
achieve that result. This is intolerable. We’ve had some fantastic experiences together at Ibrox,
but this was plainly a horrible one. I understand the frustration. I want to fight!
Rod Stewart blasts ‘ridiculous’ Rangers and Celtic situation
Rod Stewart has acknowledged that he wants Gers to improve because he believes Celtic take things
for granted.
He’s lambasted how poor the other teams are, making things uninteresting as the Hoops cruise to yet another SPFL championship.
These remarks were made in the aftermath of Rangers’ shocking departure from the Scottish Cup.
Stewart told talkSPORT (14 February) that after that nice guy saved the penalty for Queen’s Park, he
and his kid danced all over the room, hopped on the sofa, and went totally bananas.
Philippe Clement sack compensation admission made
Peter Martin, PLZ Soccer commentator, has suggested that the club will pay £1.2 million to split ways with Clement.
While there have been allegations that Gers cannot afford to sack the Belgian, it is not believed to be a costly issue.
Despite the horrific nature of the season, Clement’s position is secure as of now.
