According to TEAMtalk, the Eagles may soon have to make a difficult choice as Atletico Madrid has their sights set on Jean-Philippe Mateta, a striker for Crystal Palace.

With ten Premier League goals this season, the 27-year-old Frenchman has been in incredible form and drawing attention around Europe. Mateta scored 16 league goals the previous season, demonstrating that his success is ongoing. Palace is in a difficult situation since they want to keep their best striker, but his contract only lasts until 2026.

This summer could be Palace’s last chance to get a sizable transfer price for Mateta’s services if he doesn’t sign a contract extension in the upcoming months. According to TEAMtalk, Diego Simeone is looking to expand his offensive alternatives because Antoine Griezmann is now 33 and nearing the end of his career. As a result, Atletico Madrid has nominated Mateta.
