Issues with Postecoglou An injury update for Van De Ven before their trip to Aston Villa
Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are both expected to miss Sunday’s FA Cup fourth-round trip to Aston Villa, according to Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou.
Van de Ven played 45 minutes against Elfborg last week, but he hasn’t played since. The center-back duo has resumed training.
After losing Radu Dragusin to injury for the remainder of the season, Postecoglou stated prior to the Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool that the team was exercising caution with the two.
Postecoglou acknowledged to reporters Friday morning that neither is prepared to go back.
The Spurs manager responded, “No,” when asked if any players will be returning for the match at Villa Park.
“We thought Micky might be a chance for the first hour,” Postecoglou continued. As long as we don’t lose anyone else like Richy did last night, we’re still hoping to have one or two back for the Manchester United match at the beginning of next week.
Since we wouldn’t be getting anyone back, I knew this week would be difficult. Because he had put a lot of effort into getting back, [Richarlison] was emotional last night. Another setback has occurred. Getting him back will need us to deal with him.
