Eagles could raid the Chiefs Super Bowl-winning cupboard for defensive reinforcements

the Philadelphia Eagles will aim to make some improvements this summer.

Everyone has their own ideas about who should be included as one of these upgrades.

The Eagles will be seeking to upgrade their secondary, and one potential target is Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed,

according to ESPN’s Matt Bowen.

Bowen was asked to suggest one move he would like to see during the offseason, and this is what he said:

“CB L’Jarius Sneed has signed with the Eagles.” Philadelphia prioritizes improving its cornerback position this offseason.

With Sneed, the Eagles add one of the top senior free agents with coverage skills and the potential to produce in Vic Fangio’s system.”

Philadelphia’s secondary needs a lot of help under new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Sneed may make a fantastic addition.

Here’s some backstory on L’Jarius Sneed, who’s been linked to the Eagles more recently.

The Chiefs chose Sneed in the fourth round (138th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. In the four seasons since,

he has 303 tackles, 40 deflections, 10 interceptions, and two Super Bowl championships.

In the AFC Championship game this year, he forced a fumble from Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers in the fourth quarter,

which Kansas City recovered. That play helped to secure the victory and propel the Chiefs to their second consecutive Super Bowl participation.

The Eagles could definitely use some of that big-play potential at cornerback. Plus, at 27 years old,

Sneed should still have several productive years of football ahead of him.

Ultimately, the Eagles will not be the only team interested in Sneed, nor will he be the only cornerback available.

So, a union between the two is far from certain. It makes sense on paper,

though, so we’ll have to wait and see if the Eagles opt to go that route.
