PRE-MATCH INTERVIEW: ‘We need to see a hardened and solid performance against Norwich’ – Warne

Ahead of Derby County’s Sky Bet Championship matchup against Norwich City on Saturday (3pm kickoff), head coach Paul Warne has called for a “hardened performance” from the team.

As Derby looks to gain crucial points after a string of dismal Championship losses in recent weeks,

the Rams travel to Carrow Road with new acquisitions Sondre Langås and Harrison Armstrong

hoping to make their debuts.

While youthful midfielder Armstrong came on deadline day on a loan from Everton, where he will

play for the Rams for the remainder of the 2024–2025 season, Norwegian international defender

Langas joined last Saturday after attending Derby’s 1-0 loss to Sheffield United.

Earlier in the season, the clubs played at Pride Park, where the Canaries, who are now ninth in the division, prevailed 3-2.

Warne spoke with RamsTV about the squad’s recent arrivals and gave a sneak peek at what will

happen this weekend.

On new signing Langas and Armstrong…

Sondre Langås has been our target for some time. If something were to happen, he would be at the

top of our shopping list. He has always been liked by us. He has incredible speed and spring, which

I always want in my backline. He can also cover up if you ever leave him alone. He is a Norwegian international who wishes to advance in his profession and is of a good age. For us, a lot of boxes

have been checked. He is a great addition to our backline, and we also thought he was a great boy.

In the summer, our recruiters introduced us to Harrison Armstrong. They said he was right up after seeing him play against Preston North End during the preseason…
