Once more, Stoke City has had a difficult season in the Championship. Since the start of the campaign

in August, SCFC hasn’t had much to celebrate.

However, the Potters have been able to tighten things up at the back since Mark Robins took over as manager. Despite only winning twice in the last eight Championship games, they have kept five clean sheets.
Ashley Phillips, a loan player who has made a huge impression at the Bet365 Stadium while gaining experience away from Spurs, has been a staple in recent months. Although he missed just one league game during his brief absence from the team at the beginning of Narcis Pelach’s tenure, he has been a constant since the end of October.

Both Stoke City supporters and the media have given Phillips a lot of praise, and defensive partner Michael Rose has now shown his appreciation for the 19-year-old.

The seasoned Scot commended Phillips for his “brilliant” efforts and predicted that he would maximise his “huge potential” in the years to come, as reported by Stoke on Trent Live.

Rose, a centre-back for SCFC, stated, “I think he’s improved a lot this season just from playing a lot of games.”

“I believe he has been exceptional, has a lot of potential, and still has a lot to learn, which is fortunate. If he continues to play in the same manner, he has a bright future ahead of him.

A big future

For a while now, many have predicted Phillips will have a bright future. His colleagues are obviously impressed, and Stoke City supporters are the most recent to recognise his potential and current skill.

At the age of 16, Phillips made his debut for Blackburn Rovers’ first team and was already a standout player for the U21 squad. Before Tottenham Hotspur stepped in, he made 14 appearances for the team.
