A summer transfer swoop for a 14-goal League One star is linked to Middlesbrough.

The most recent Middlesbrough transfer news, via Dom Aberdeen, states that the club has already identified a

League One forward as a target for the summer transfer window after a 14-goal campaign in the third division.

Football League World reports that Boro is interested in Ricky-Jade Jones of Peterborough United,

a 22-year-old forward who has scored 14 goals this season and whose contract is set to expire in the summer.

Jones scored in Wednesday night’s 3-2 victory over Cheltenham Town,

securing the Posh’s spot in the EFL Trophy semi-finals.

Luke O’Nien of Sunderland has responded to Mike Dodds’ departure, since the coach was permitted to

join Wycombe Wanderers.

Speaking to Wycombe’s media team, the former Wanderers defender praised the 38-year-old, calling him

“the best coach I have ever worked under.” O’Nien posted on Instagram: “A manager with an incredible football brain,

who gave me incredible clarity going into each game on what I and the team needed to do, and who made me

love the game in ways I didn’t know.”

“Without his development on and off the field, I wouldn’t be competing at the top of the Championship.”

Frank Lampard of Coventry City and Leeds United remained friendly after the Sky Blues coach reacted to

taunts from the away crowd as the Whites defeated them 2-0. Referencing the scoreline of the 2019

play-off semi-final he orchestrated against the Whites, the former Derby County manager cupped his ear

to the away end of the CBS Arena. The Rams overcame a deficit to defeat Leeds 4–2,

securing their spot in the championship game.
