Just In: West Ham and the Madrid player have agreed to a two-year contract.
West Ham United only signed one player during the winter transfer window, Evan Ferguson,
who came on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. The Hammers wanted to bolster their striker position,
so it appears that they pursued another target before signing Ferguson. According to Marca,
West Ham United was interested in signing Endrick of Real Madrid in January,
but a number of other teams also wanted the 18-year-old. The Hammers approached the teenager with
“most insistence” and reached out to his entourage for a loan agreement. Manager Carlo Ancelotti has
some plans for Endrick’s future, and the report claims that Endrick is certain that this is a learning
curve for him and that he wants to experience all of that while staying at Real Madrid. Despite their best efforts,
Los Blancos rejected approaches from West Ham United, and Endrick himself turned them down.
The talent is reportedly patient at Real Madrid and has been promised more playing time in
the remaining games of the season.
