Wes Burns, who suffered a knee injury on January 31, shares a message at Ipswich Town.
McKenna confirmed that he will have surgery next week and won’t play for Ipswich again this season after the 30-year-old, who made 18 appearances for the Blues in the Premier League this season, went down clutching his knee in the first half of the 4-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield and was subsequently stretchered off, raising concerns about the severity of the injury.Since then, Burns has sent a message on Instagram in advance of Town’s crucial matchup with relegation-threatened Southampton at Portman Road tomorrow. “Devastated that my season has ended this way, these things happen in football unfortunately,” he wrote. “Recovery will take a long time, but I’m committed to getting healthier! With the help of my family, Ipswich Town, and my incredible teammates, I am confident that my rehabilitation experience will provide me with the chance to grow both personally and athletically!
