The chiefs parade victim would be laid to rest in a Harrison Butker jersey
Lisa Lopez-Galvan, the lady slain when gunshots erupted during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, will be put to rest wearing the jersey of her favorite player, kicker Harrison Butker.
Lopez-Galvan wore a white Butker jersey to the parade, and a member of her family stated on social media that they wanted her to be buried in a white Butker jersey but were having difficulty obtaining one. When the Chiefs learned of the situation, they delivered a jersey to the family.
Butker said he was honored to be able to participate.
“My wife Isabelle and I are heartbroken by the murder of Lisa due to degenerate violence,” she said. “Murder is a sin that screams out to God for vengeance, and I pray that the men responsible for this tragedy are brought to justice. Hearing that she admired my outspokenness about our common Catholic faith makes this much more personal. I am thrilled to donate a jersey to the family for her to wear. While the family mourns their loss and deals with their multiple injuries, I will continue to pray for their healing and the repose of Lisa’s soul.”
Lopez-Galvan’s funeral will be held on Friday, followed by a burial on Saturday. She was 43 years old and is survived by her husband, two children, a stepdaughter, four grandchildren, parents, and three siblings.
