Official: Crystal Palace sign Aniek Nouwen on loan from Chelsea FC Women

Chelsea defender Aniek Nouwen is eager to improve in the new year after missing the entire calendar year 2024 due to an ACL injury.

To boost her recuperation now, she needs minutes above all else, which should happen the balance of the season

following her loan move to Crystal Palace on deadline day. Nouwen also secured a one-year contract extension through 2026 earlier this month, giving her enough time and security to avoid rushing the process.

Palace are currently bottom of the Women’s Super League, four points from safety. However, with nearly half of the season remaining, they may still be able to survive if they can improve their league-worst defense. Laura Kaminski, Palace’s head coach, hopes to put the 25-year-old’s experience to good use.
