DONE DEAL: Kieran Tierney Make Stunning Celtic Return – the big statement
According to Tam McManus, Celtic has secured a pre-contract agreement with Kieran Tierney,
but they are counting on another player to join them in January.
After reaching an agreement, Tierney is expected to join the team in the summer, according to
Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers [Sky Sports].
After Alex Valle’s loan agreement with Barcelona was dissolved, Celtic is still holding out hope
that a deal may be reached this January.
Any deal for Tierney during the winter transfer window will almost certainly depend on Arsenal maintaining Oleksandr Zinchenko, according to McManus.
The only way he [Tierney] may end up to Celtic in THIS window, according to McManus on X, is if Arsenal keeps Zinchenko and something can be done very late.
“KT should be retained for cover until the summer if Zinchenko is sold.”
Celtic need defensive reinforcements after Valle loan is terminated
Greg Taylor is the only senior left-back available to the Hoops now that Valle has left.
Rodger has no intentions for young Adam Montgomery, and the team will consider summer offers
for the 22-year-old.
The depth at left-back has been further weakened by the departure of Alexandro Bernabei, who
signed with Internacional in Brazil [BBC Sport].
If Tierney can stay healthy, he will be a fantastic addition to the team. However, if the Arsenal player doesn’t sign until the summer, Celtic will have to acquire a temporary replacement in the closing days
of the transfer window.
