DONE DEAL: Crystal Palace have agreed a deal to sign Australian teenage sensation Rylan Brownlie on a free transfer
Crystal Palace have agreed a deal to sign Australian teenage sensation Rylan Brownlie on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider.
Brownlie, who had a training stint with Palace in December after leaving Brisbane Roar in the summer, is set to seal his move to Palace when he turns 18 next month.
The highly-rated forward did enough during his training stint at Palace to be offered a deal by the Eagles and has now agreed terms.
He came through the ranks in Brisbane and signed his first professional deal in 2023 before leaving the Roar a year later.
Brownlie made 12 appearances in the A-League during the 2023-24 campaign, notching one goal and one assist.
Former Crystal Palace defender Craig Moore is the forward’s agent and he has brokered the deal to bring the teenager to England.

The 2007-born star, who scored his first senior goal at 16, is renowned for his power and pace.
Crystal Palace have already bolstered their senior ranks this month by moving to sign young attacking midfielder Romain Esse from Millwall.
Esse scored on debut for Oliver Glasner’s side in a 2-1 loss against Brentford on Sunday (26 January).
The Eagles sit 13th in the Premier League table after a recent upturn in form under Glasner.
