Celtic set sights on instant Kyogo replacement after deal agreed – sources
According to Football Insider, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to replace Kyogo Furuhashi on a like-for-like basis before the 3 February deadline. The 30-year-old “icon” has left the Hoops to join Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais.
Furuhashi’s departure came as a surprise, but Celtic got an offer too good to refuse when the Japan international
voiced his wish to leave. Jota joined at Parkhead in a separate transfer, but it is believed the Hoops are looking to add another forward.
Meanwhile, Daizen Maeda could take on a major role when the Portuguese winger returned to the club. Brondby striker Mathias Kvistgaarden has been named as Rodgers’ main striker target following his strong play in Denmark.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday (25 January) that the 22-year-old is expected to cost around £10million this month as his club are reluctant to see him leave mid-season. Kvistgaarden has hit 14 goals and notched five assists in 22 games across all competitions for Brondby so far this term.
Celtic also have Adam Idah on the books and the Republic of Ireland international could become a regular starter after Kyogo’s exit.
