Kieran Tierney discusses why he selected Rangers’ loan agreement over Celtic’s, surprising pundits.

Despite mounting rumors about the move, Kieran Tierney’s possible loan return to Celtic has apparently been delayed.

His current contract with Arsenal is about to expire, making a return to the Hoops more plausible in the summer, but Celtic supporters are hoping for a quicker move.

There are apparently issues that are now impeding the move, despite the fact that many fans are eager to see Tierney return to Celtic Park on loan until the end of the season.

According to the Daily Record, Oleksandr Zinchenko’s future could make things more difficult because of his possible £30 million transfer to Borussia Dortmund or Atletico Madrid this month.

Despite having left-back options including Myles Lewis-Skelly, Jurrien Timber, and Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Arteta is reportedly hesitant to let Tierney to go on loan this month if Zinchenko departs.

According to reports, the Spaniard is eager to stay ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League championship fight and hopes to make it to Europe, as Arsenal is on the verge of making it to the Champions League round of 16.

Prior to Wednesday night’s play against Girona in Spain on matchday 8, the Gunners are presently ranked third in the league.

It’s interesting to note that Arteta, who had Lewis-Skelly sent off shortly before halftime, chose to start Tierney in the 87th minute of Wolves’ 1-0 victory at Molineux, ahead of Zinchenko, to finish the game with 10 men.

It’s definitely not the kind of Saturday night update that Celtic fans would have preferred. But because of the intricacy of Arteta’s management style, the Spaniard is frantically attempting to have as many left-backs as possible.
