Albert Grønbaek, who recently joined Southampton, has called his move “absolutely fantastic” and stated that he hopes to make it permanent after saving the team from relegation.

Speaking to Tipsbladet, Grønbæk discussed his decision to go to the south coast and the Premier League’s current worst team.

After a challenging stint at the French team, he has joined on loan from Rennes until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old central midfielder had found it difficult to fit in under boss Jorge Sampaoli, whose

style of play was thought to be completely at odds with his own.

Grønbæk is undoubtedly excited about his new club, and it is hoped that he can get back on track at

St. Mary’s under Ivan Juric.

“Playing in the best league in the world feels amazing, and it’s a really, really good opportunity for

me,” he said. “And the playing style fits me really well, so I’m really excited to see what’s going on

going forward.”

Grønbæk, however, joins Southampton at a time when things are not going well on the field. They

are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table with only six points and 18 losses from 22

games, and most people believe they will be relegated by the end of the season; an almost miraculous turnaround is required if they are to avoid that. Grønbæk is confident they can do something to upset

the odds, though, and possibly secure a permanent move in the process.

Furthermore, you must never say never. Two victories can make all the difference, and if you get it

going and are fortunate, you can claim that this has happened before and that a club has been in our shoes before and still managed to preserve itself.
