James McFadden explains to Celtic why it was a “mistake” to lose Kyogo Furuhashi following the cruel Peter Grant cash hypothesis.
In the next few days, Kyogo Furuhashi is anticipated to depart Celtic for Rennes.
The Japanese striker was embroiled in an odd transfer saga with Atlanta United earlier this month,
which has led to a lot of conjecture on his future at Celtic. After the Bhoys defeated Young Boys in the
Champions League, both teams agreed to a £10 million transfer, and Kyogo is now leaving Celtic for Rennes.
James McFadden, meanwhile, has warned Celtic about the transaction after
claiming that selling the Japanese talisman was a “mistake.”
Furthermore, the warning follows Peter Grant’s biting hypothesis that Kyogo
left Celtic purely for financial gain and had nothing to do with his aspirations to play for his country.
“It’s a good deal to get Jota back, but I don’t think it’s a good deal to let Kyogo go,” McFadden told Open Goal.
“Why wouldn’t someone pay that in the summer if they’re spending £10 million in January?
“You’re not getting the movement that he has, but it depends on who enters.” If you offer him service,
his movement is absurd, even if I know some people will complain that he doesn’t participate in the game.
Personally, I don’t think it’s a smart idea because, for £10 million, who are you bringing in?
