This summer window’s 33 acquisitions in the Championship as Stoke City, Sheffield United, and Hull City add

The most recent Championship teams to add players are Portsmouth and Stoke City.

Josh Wilson-Esbrand, a player manager Mark Robins had at Coventry City, has joined the Potters on loan from Manchester City. Thomas Waddingham, a teenage striker, has joined Fratton Park permanently from Brisbane Roar. This month, Preston North End has finished two items of inbound business. Jayden Meghoma, who moved from Brentford on loan, became the number two signing last week. Lewis Gibson, a defender, was acquired by PNE from Plymouth Argyle earlier in the transfer window for an estimated sum of more than £1.5 million. This week, Burnley, Preston’s rivals in Lancashire, finalized a deal for Jonjo Shelvey. The 32-year-old joins Turf Moor once his contract with Eyupspor, a team in the Turkish Super Lig, expires. The Clarets put the former Liverpool and Newcastle United player on trial. 17 teams in the second division have expanded their rosters thus far during the January transfer window.
