James Tavernier sends message to Cyriel Dessers after Rangers exit reveal
Following the announcement that the team is trying to cash in on the striker, Rangers captain James Tavernier praised colleague Cyriel Dessers on social media.
Rangers might be open to accepting a “major offer” for the 30-year-old during the January transfer window, according to a report published by Football Insider on January 18.
Dessers is reportedly seen by the team as a “sellable asset” as they look to raise much-needed money.
The Nigerian would not be content to play second fiddle to Hamza Igamane, as has been the case for most of this season, according to reliable sources who spoke to Football Insider.
Along with goals from Clinton Nsiala and Ross McCausland, Dessers scored a hat-trick in Rangers’ convincing 5-0 Scottish Cup victory over Fraserburgh on Sunday, January 19.

this season. In his 1759 minutes of play, he has scored 16 goals and provided five assists.
In contrast, Tavernier has been crucial, starting 27 of his 31 games in all competitions and recording 2443 minutes on the field with three goals and seven assists.
The right-back celebrated the victory over Fraserburgh on Instagram, praising Dessers specifically for his outstanding play.
On Thursday, January 23, Rangers will travel south of the border to play Premier League powerhouse Man United in a pivotal Europa League match.
On Sunday, January 26, focus will go back to the Scottish Premier League as they look to close the gap on league leaders Celtic.
