Shocking News: Leeds United examines the transfer of a new striker…

Leeds United are interested in signing Willem Geubbels FC St. Gallen during the winter transfer window, according to Lyall Thomas. The journalist stated via Sky Sports’ live trade blog (21 January, 12:18 pm) that the Whites are considering bringing the 23-year-old on loan.

There are plenty of options up front for Leeds United, with Joel Piroe, Mateo Joseph, and Patrick Bamford already in their ranks. However, it seems Daniel Farke is eager to add more firepower to his attack as he looks to lead the Elland Road to promotion this season. Norwich City and West Brom, Leeds’ Championship rivals, are also considering the possibility of acquiring the center-forward.

Farke has made Piroe his first-choice striker this season, but it is impossible to blame the German coach for preferring a center-forward who can score goals more frequently.

In his last ten Championship games, the Dutchman has only scored three goals, two of which came in the 2-0 victory over Stoke City on Boxing Day.

In contrast, Geubbels has scored three goals in various competitions and contributed two assists in 13 league appearances for FC St. Gallen this season.

Whether the West Yorkshire team will increase their interest in the Frenchman and bring him to Elland Road for the second half of the season is still up in the air.

In other Leeds United news, Ally McCoist responded live on air to Carlo Ancelotti’s Elland Road query.
