Celtic Miss Out on Winger, Rangers in Exit Talks, Hearts Seal Deal – Scottish Transfer Update
Could Former Celtic Pair Reunite?
Odsonne Édouard is reportedly closing in on a £15 million move to Atlanta United, where he could reunite with former Celtic manager Ronny Deila. The Crystal Palace striker, 27, had been briefly linked with a return to Celtic over the summer but ended up joining Leicester City on loan. However, he struggled for playing time, prompting Atlanta United to pursue him as they prepare for the new MLS season starting in late February.
Meanwhile, Hearts have secured Aiden Haddow, a Celtic youth product, on a permanent deal. The 19-year-old midfielder, whose contract with Celtic was set to expire in the summer, will join Hearts’ B squad after a successful move from Celtic’s B team.
Rangers midfielder Alex Lowry is also set to depart, with reports suggesting a move to Wycombe Wanderers in League One. The 21-year-old, who has failed to feature for the Rangers first team this season, is expected to leave after his contract expires in the summer.
In another twist, Celtic are reportedly losing out in the race for Aston Villa winger Louie Barry. The 21-year-old, who has been performing well at Stockport County, is said to prefer a move to England over a switch to Celtic, despite the Hoops’ offer. Clubs like Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, and RC Lens are also in contention for his signature.
