Euro club to finalise deal to sign Rangers ace by this week, offer already made – report
Besiktas are to finalise the deal one way or the other with regards to Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz by this week, according to Ajansspor.
The news outlet reported on 18 January that a close friend of the Turkey international called him up to try and convince him to return to the club.
It’s understood that a loan offer was presented to Gers to allow the 23-year-old to leave in the January transfer window.
Rangers have no reason to let Ridvan Yilmaz go out on loan
Gers have little motivation to let Yilmaz go on loan to Besiktas during the January transfer window.
The Turk has proven his versatility and value to the squad, especially during an injury crisis where he filled in at right-back.
His ability to adapt to different positions makes him a perfect utility player, which is crucial for maintaining squad depth and flexibility throughout a demanding season.
Furthermore, with the transfer window being a time when clubs aim to strengthen their teams rather than diminish their options, the Ibrox outfit would be at a disadvantage by reducing their defensive options.
The club’s interest in securing or maintaining a competitive edge in all competitions they participate in means keeping a player like Yilmaz, who can cover multiple defensive roles, is strategically sound.
Additionally, with no clear indication of a permanent transfer fee that would justify a loan move, the club would be better off keeping him to ensure they have all resources available for the remainder of the season.
