Misery for Ruud’s Leicester as Fulham inflict seventh defeat in a row
Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team is now much more concerned about relegation after Fulham’s 2-0 victory over Leicester condemned the Foxes to their seventh straight Premier League loss.
The Cottagers grabbed a well-earned three points on the road thanks to goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Adama Traoré in the second half.
Fulham climbed up to ninth place, while the home team missed the chance to escape the relegation
zone and remained stuck at 19th.
Jordan Ayew’s shot went straight at Bernd Leno as Leicester got off to a strong start in the first ten minutes. Jamie Vardy’s cross then almost put Timothy Castagne in his own net.
After twenty minutes, Emile Smith Rowe missed a clean pass after the visitors had dominated the
ball with careful build-up.
Victor Kristiansen gave the foxes an opportunity after a raging run from deep, and his effort flew past
the post.
After 30 minutes, Fulham created a few chances, with strikes from Antonee Robinson and Calvin
Bassey bouncing just inches beyond the right post.
Relegation rivals Ipswich Town and Wolves, who are both on 16 points and haven’t played this
weekend, are two points ahead of Leicester, who are still two points from safety.
Next Sunday, the Cottagers entertain Manchester United, and the Foxes go to Tottenham.
