Negotiations are ongoing to sign a Rangers player after an initial bid, with Clement’s side working to fend off the move.
Turkish media suggest that Besiktas remain keen on signing Rangers defender Rıdvan Yilmaz. Despite Philippe Clement starting Yilmaz in Rangers’ last six league games, there have been ongoing rumors of a potential departure for the Turkey international.
According to Ajanspor, Besiktas are actively pursuing a deal for the 23-year-old, viewing him as an ideal replacement for Arthur Masuaku, whom they are looking to offload. A bid has reportedly been made by the Istanbul club, though Rangers are said to have rejected it.
The involvement of newly-appointed Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær could also influence the club’s decision to pursue Yilmaz further.
Currently, Yilmaz has ten appearances for Rangers this season and remains under contract with the club until June 2027.
