JUST IN: West Ham will release Southampton from the flop transfer on one condition.

Maxwel Cornet joined Southampton on loan from West Ham at the start of the season.

At the time, the signing made a lot of sense,

as Southampton needed some support out wide on their return to the Premier League.

However, now that we’re more than halfway through the season,

it’s evident that the transfer hasn’t gone as planned.

Russell Martin essentially forgot about Cornet,

leaving the attacker to languish on the bench.

His attention would have been piqued when Martin was sacked and Ivan Juric was announced.

However, the Croatian has expressed no desire to start him.

Juric would rather have his contract terminated so that the Saints may open up another loan slot.

Claret and Hugh’s report provided an outstanding overview of Maxwel Cornet’s challenging predicament from West Ham’s standpoint. They add that West Ham will only allow Southampton to cut Cornet’s loan arrangement short if the Saints honor their agreement and reimburse Cornet’s salaries in full.Southampton believes that because they reached an agreement, they should adhere to it. This manner, they would be returning an out-of-favour player for a chance to save his career while simultaneously creating another loan place for themselves.

Southampton are now grappling with the implications of the summer transfer window. They signed a few too many players in a panic buy. Juric is required to address this issue before even considering bringing in new players.
