Turkish giants increase up their interest in Newcastle United and Aston Villa defenders amid £6 million’rejected proposal’.
Fenerbahce, a Turkish club, is reportedly interested in signing
Newcastle United defender Lloyd Kelly in January.
Kelly joined the Magpies on a free transfer in the summer after working with Eddie Howe at Bournemouth.
He has already made a number of pre-season friendlies for the club.
Kelly, who had previously worked with Eddie Howe at Bournemouth,
joined the Magpies on a free transfer in the summer after his contract with the Cherries expired.
Despite appearing in a number of pre-season friendlies,
Kelly has only made four Premier League starts and one substitute
appearance since the 2-0 home defeat against West Ham United in late November.
Speaking earlier this month about Kelly’s limited opportunities, Howe said:
“They have, but it’s been due to the form of the players that have played.
Lloyd is a versatile player. He can play a variety of positions.
Dan [Burn] and Fabian [Schar] have been in excellent form at the heart of the defence,
particularly recently. We’ve performed well defensively.
That is always a point where I find it tough to rotate too much.
I prefer to have a consistent back four rather than chop and change.
Relationships are what ensure your team’s stability.
But Lloyd is training hard, extremely well, and is waiting for his opportunity.”
