Mark Wilson reckons Celtic still have a stronger starting XI than Rangers when everyone is fit.

However, he concedes that there has been a major “flip” since the beginning of the season,

when the Light Blues were struggling to play in front of their demanding fans, which the Hoops are now experiencing.

Following Celtic’s draw with Kilmarnock over the weekend, Philippe Clement’s side has moved two points ahead in the title battle.

It has continued a momentum shift, with the Hoops surrendering points in numerous consecutive games, allowing their rivals to not only re-enter the title race but also steal a march on them.

Rangers struggled with consistency early in the season until replacing Michael Beale with the Belgian.

Wilson believes it is unusual for the big two to trade places so frequently in a single season.

However, he can see his old team smoothing things out if they can get their key players back in shape, as they have the stronger starting lineup.

“It is quite a flip from the start of the season. You look back at September/October and the Rangers players found it incredibly difficult to play in that environment at Ibrox.

The atmosphere from the support really took away from the players performing on the pitch.

“You can sense that happening here at Celtic Park. It is unusual for two elite teams to meet in the same season. However, the Celtic players must accept the situation and move on.

“They were brought to the club not just for their talent, but also for their ability to handle high-pressure situations. Every time they step on the pitch at Celtic Park in the coming weeks, they will be under intense pressure.
