The decision of the Chicago Bears to trade quarterback Justin Fields and

center their offseason strategy around the No. 1 pick, or to retain Fields,

has not been made public. NFL teams anticipate that general manager

Ryan Pace would move Fields, and if he does, he may get a respectably high return for the rookie signal-caller.

The Bears have not even given away what they want to do with Fields;

they have kept their cards close to the vest.

Chicago may even decide to hold onto Fields and select a quarterback with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, according to recent NFL reports.

Notwithstanding the public misrepresentation,

most players in the league think the Bears have already decided who

they will take first overall and are set to center the draft around a rookie quarterback.

said Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.

The starting salary would probably be a second-round pick in 2024;

the exact selection would depend on the team that expressed interest.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, and New England Patriots have all been cited as possible landing locations;

however, Pittsburgh is in the rear third of the selection order,

while Atlanta and New England have top-10 picks.
