Striker scores first goal months after Rangers exit – Now getting paid for each time he scores

After spending six years with Rangers, we saw Alfredo Morelos depart last summer.

During his time there, he never had the opportunity to collaborate with Philippe Clement.

He ultimately left Ibrox to return to South America, where he signed with Santos, a team that was going to be relegated,

in spite of the numerous rumors about his possible destinations.

Morelos was unable to change that, and the team ultimately sent him to Serie B. Globo Esporte, who left Rangers,

has revealed some intriguing information about his new deal as he celebrates his first goal of the season.

It is believed that he accepted a salary of R$900k (€168k) per month when he left Ibrox to join Santos.

Then there was a new, less expensive arrangement after the relegation.

It is believed that Morelos agreed to give up more than 60% of his pay.

He requested a contract extension, a signing bonus, plus a bonus for each goal he scores going forward for Santos in return.

Globo Esporte reports that the club is paying R$10k (€1870) for the striker’s winning goal in the Paulista Championship match against São Paulo,

as well as any other goal he scores for the team.

Morelos hadn’t scored a goal since leaving Rangers in the summer before, until that point.

He must now score a lot of goals in order to earn some money in Brazil.
