Rangers have numerous first-team players who will be out of contract at the end of the 2023/24 season and will need to make decisions about their futures shortly.

Six stars are now scheduled to leave Ibrox in the summer, while loan players Fabio Silva, Abdallah Sima, and Oscar Cortes will return to their parent clubs, though the Gers have the option of signing the Colombian winger on a permanent basis. Borna Barasic, Kemar Roofe, Ryan Jack, Leon Balogun, John Lundstram, and Jon McLaughlin all have contracts that will expire.

According to TeamTALK, Rangers have begun contract talks with one first-team player, Philippe Clement, who is eager to sign a new agreement. ‘Conversations’ are thought to have began with former Everton and Sheffield United midfielder Lundstram, who has 137 appearances for the Glasgow club, 37 of which have come this season, since his 2021 arrival.

However, the same report states that teammate midfielder Jack is still waiting for negotiations to begin on a new contract. However, it is also stated that the former Aberdeen player is ‘highly valued’ by Rangers and that ‘there is no big panic over his situation’.

Although he is expected to miss the playing milestones that would trigger his automatic one-year extension owing to injuries, he is thought to be eager to sign a new contract if one is provided. Both players appear to have attention from clubs in Europe and England.
