Birmingham City expecting cash influx as Crystal Palace lodge first bid
Birmingham City are expected to receive a transfer budget boost as Crystal Palace consider a move for a Championship star.
Crystal Palace are apparently contemplating a second bid for Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, which could net Birmingham City millions.
The Blues academy graduate has impressed since joining the Black Cats for about £5 million in June, scoring seven goals and assisting once in 45 Sky Bet Championship games.
This form, as well as the enormous potential available, has piqued the interest of a number of top-tier teams.
According to transfer news journalist Fabrizio Romano,
Palace is actively pursuing a deal to sign Bellingham.
The 18-year-old is thought to be top on Oliver Glasner‘s list of attacking midfield targets, after Eagles forward Michael Olise‘s impending £50 million transfer to Bayern Munich.
According to The Guardian, Sunderland rejected Palace’s original deal and will only accept offers of £20 million or more.
Several other Premier League clubs have also had proposals rejected, although Palace is set to try again with better terms.
