Rumors for Today:
•On Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes revealed they’ve “heard almost all year” that WWE is planning for CM Punk to be in a World Title match at WrestleMania 41. However, they’re unsure how this will play out, as Punk isn’t currently slated for a feud with either Cody Rhodes or Gunther.
•During the Raw on Netflix Kickoff event, Michael Cole referred to CM Punk’s match against Seth Rollins as the main event for the Jan. 6 premiere.
•Although Final Battle is being promoted as having a “double main event,” Fightful reports that Athena vs. Billie Starkz for the ROH Women’s Title is expected to close the show. Athena confirmed this in an interview with Denise Salcedo.
•A Florida liquor store chain announced that LA Knight had been replaced by Braun Strowman for an upcoming appearance due to injury. However, Fightful Select clarified that Knight isn’t injured and was never approved for the event.
•Despite some speculation, PW Insider confirmed that WWE’s former headquarters, Titan Towers, has not been sold.
