The trustworthy journalist, in a post on his personal Twitter account on January 26, states that Bayern Munich and

Galatasaray have reached an agreement to finalise the transfer of full-back Sacha Boey, with a medical set for

this Saturday afternoon.

The agreement between the teams, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, is valued between €28 and €29

million (£23.9 and £24.7 million).

Even though that transaction by itself has nothing to do with the Ibrox team, it may finally end the standoff that has been

between the Turkish powerhouses and Rangers over left-back Ridvan Yilmaz over the entire month.

Yilmaz has spent a large portion of the transfer window being linked to a move to Serie A or Turkey, but he has impressed

despite the rumours. On Saturday afternoon, he even began the match against St Mirren following his goal in the midweek

victory over Hibernian.

The primary problem has apparently been Rangers’ desire to obtain a transfer price for the 22-year-old, whether it be in

exchange for an obligation to buy if he were to leave on loan or for a permanent transfer immediately.

Galatasaray declined to do so

However, there is nothing stopping the Istanbul club from making the payment right now given that they have a sizable sum

of money to spend at the end of the transfer season and a short window of time to complete the deal before the deadline.

Rangers had been hoping to sign a replacement for Yilmaz for the entire month, but no deal has come together. Because of

his consistent play, Yilmaz has been Philippe Clement’s first choice even if Borna Barisic is back to full fitness.

Any plans for the second half of the season would be severely disrupted if he were to go at this point in the window, and the

Rangers will all be anxiously awaiting Galatasaray’s decision.
