Neil McCann sees something Rangers have that he doesn’t recognise at Celtic
According to the former Ibrox winger, Philippe Clement’s team needs the backing.
In their pursuit for the Scottish Premiership title, Neil McCann believes the Rangers supporters’
patience will be key. The former Ibrox winger stated that after the team’s victory over Ross County,
it is evident that the supporters are clamoring for a real No. 9.
The Light Blues defeated the Staggies 3-1 at Ibrox, although they were unable to secure the top spot
in the table by a single goal. For the Highlanders, Simon Murray took advantage of shoddy defensive
play to score after Cyriel Dessers scored twice and John Souttar headed home in the dying moments.
However, McCann noted that the fans’ response was crucial, as the Gers supporters remained composed
despite missing the summit—the second time in eight days that they had had the chance. He contrasted
that with opponents Celtic, who had won eight of their past nine games yet still elicited groans. Brendan Rodgers
referred to the unfavorable “narrative” surrounding Celtic, pointing out that although Rangers are currently tied for
first place, the champions were seven points adrift prior to Philippe Clement’s arrival.
