OFFICIAL: Riccardo Calafiori to Juventus, personal terms agreed
It’s evident that Cristiano Giuntoli’s first full summer in command has a significantly different tone
from last summer, when Juventus’ incoming transfer business was incredibly limited and could be counted on one hand. First of all, he has real money to deal with, but he also wants to try to finish
off some of his most significant business before Conitassa’s preseason training sessions begin the following month.
Juventus is anticipated to make a goalkeeping signing shortly. More than that, though, since talk
s are ongoing between the two Italian teams that will play in the Champions League the following season, including the team from whom their soon-to-be manager will be hired.
He also intends to bring one of his top players along.
Over the past few days, Italian transfer reporter Nicolo Schira and TuttoJuve.com’s Mirko Di
Natale have reported that Riccardo Calafiori, an Italian defender, has reached a personal terms agreement with Juventus on a five-year contract that runs through 2029. The 22-year-old Roma
youth product is apparently in talks with Bologna to join Juventus, and in exchange, the Bianconeri
will pay Calafiori €2.2 million net each season in the hopes that Thiago Motta will team him up with Bremer in the centre of the defence the next year.
Juventus agree to personal terms with Riccardo Calafiori
Calafiori is wanted by Bologna for as much as €30 million, as was previously reported. Juventus
is aiming to lower the ultimate transfer fee by include a young player.
It’s no secret at this moment that Calaifiori is a major role in the Juventus summer transfer window
due to his development as a player over the past few seasons, particularly the one in which he
returned to Italy, and the fact that he is the man who everyone believes will take over as manager
of Juventus. Getting Calafiori secured will be crucial to Thiago Motta’s vision for Juve’s backline
and his style of game.
All Juventus needs to do at this point is negotiate a deal with Bologna for Calafiori. It’s easier said
than done, but it seems like Calafiori will strongly advocate for a transfer to Juventus regardless of
who else may try to sign him this summer.
