Done deal:Julian alvarez finally signs for Tottenham
Tottenham’s chances of acquiring Julian Alvarez have taken a hit.
The 24-year-old striker has recently been strongly linked to a move to Stamford Bridge as Spurs manager Ange
Postecoglou tries to improve the team’s front line even further.
Alvarez made 36 appearances in the Premier League this season, tallying 11 goals and dishing out nine assists.
His contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in 2028.
He was a vital member of Pep Guardiola‘s team that helped
Manchester City win a record-tying fourth title and go down in history.
The Argentina international scored a brace against Fluminense in the FIFA Club World Cup final,
which helped the team win the competition for the first time.
When questioned about his plans while representing his nation on Copa America, Alvarez spoke up.
The Evening Standard cited him as saying, “These are things that are said, but I am calm; I am comfortable and
happy at City; we will see what happens.” He addressed ESPN.
Atletico Madrid declared themselves out of the running to sign Alvarez over the weekend. “Julian Alvarez is a
Manchester City player, and I believe he won’t be moving from there,” stated club president Enrique Cerezo.
Guardiola gave the Argentine a ton of praise in September 2023. “Really good – all the actions are really good and
quick,” exclaimed the Spaniard. Erling provided an excellent assist.
